Everyday Banking and Budgeting: Strategies to Help You Plan for the Future

Workshop Description: Learn how today’s purchases impact tomorrow’s freedoms. This workshop will teach participants how to map out a monthly budget. Using case studies and materials you can later use for your own financial planning, participants will learn strategies that will help navigate the month to ensure there is no overspending.
Presenters: Jordan Alford and Shane Lynch
Jordan Alford is a Chartered Investment Manager with over 9 years of experience helping people with their finances. As an Investment Advisor for RBC, he focuses on working with clients to create long term, personalized financial plans, as well as oversees portfolio designs. In his free time, Jordan enjoys golfing, skiing, and donates his time to charities that support individuals with developmental disabilities.
Dr. Shane Lynch is the Director of Professional Practice and Evaluation at the Sinneave Family Foundation. In this role, he leads a skilled inter-disciplinary team in delivering service excellence, oversees client service focused measurement and evaluation, and builds out pathways into the community. Specifically, Shane oversees the Launch + Skills Program as well as the Resource Centre and its knowledgeable Ambassadors. Dr. Lynch is a behavioral psychologist specializing in autism, positive behavior supports and self-determination. He has been serving autistic clients, as well as those with other developmental and behavioural challenges, for over 20 years. In 2005, Shane was named a Strategic Training Fellow in Autism Research by the Canadian Institute for Health Research. He has acted as a consultant for those with severe and complex needs to school districts and agencies across Alberta, the Yukon, and Northwest Territories.
