Personal Safety Presentation Workshop

Safety can be a very real concern for all adolescents and young adults, but especially for individuals with Autism.  The presentation will include safety and security tips for staying safe in and around your community; including at home, travelling, banking and online.

Workshop Speaker

Constable Patty Desormeau was born in Tisdale, Saskatchewan. She attended university in Alberta for 5 years graduating with a Bachelor of Arts (Physical Education). Patty joined the Canadian Armed Forces in 2002 as a Paramedic and in 2005 received the Alberta Centennial Medal.  In 2008 Patty became a member of the Calgary Police Service. Since joining Patty has worked in the North East area of the city as a front- line responding officer and in 2011 transferred to the Community Youth Support Services as a member of the Diversity Resources Team working with Persons with Disabilities.
