2019 Federal Election Toolkits

Monday, October 21st, 2019 will be Election Day in Canada. The days leading up to the election provide important opportunities to have meaningful conversations about government policies and programs that are important to you and your family. During elections organizations will often produce “election toolkits” as a way of prompting conversation and raising political awareness. For your interest and consideration, Sinneave is sharing four election toolkits that align with our work:

Canadian Autism Spectrum Disorder Alliance (CASDA) – Election Toolkit CASDA’s Election Toolkit focuses on securing commitments to a National Autism Strategy by all federal parties. The toolkit includes examples of Instagram posts, emails, Twitter posts and much more!

Canadian Association for Community Living (CACL) – 2019 Federal Election Strategy In order to break down barriers to inclusion for people with disabilities, CACL is calling on all federal party candidates to include developing a National Disability Action Plan in their platform commitments.

Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM) – Election 2019: Housing affordability – Backgrounder FCM is calling on all federal parties to commit to eight targeted measures that address housing affordability in Canada.

Mental Health Commission of Canada (MHCC) – Government Engagement Toolkit This MHCC toolkit is intended to support individuals, groups or organizations in their efforts to secure government support in developing and delivering mental health services.

You can engage candidates on social media! Use the hashtags below to highlight keywords and invite people to join the conversation about issues you care about:
