We are pleased to announce that A Little Somethin’ Café is re-opening its doors on Tuesday, September 13, 2022.

This year marks the 10th Anniversary of the café, which has served as both a community hub for the population at the Child Development Centre, as well as an inclusive employer, providing autistic adults an opportunity to receive training and paid employment in the food service industry. Individuals who have gone through either our EmploymentWorks or Launch + Skills programs can apply to the intern program at the café.

The café, which is located in the lobby of the Child Development Centre first opened in 2012, with Sinneave taking over the training program in 2018. In March 2020, along with the rest of the world, we had to close our doors due to the pandemic. The café has remained shuttered ever since. With the relaxing of Covid restrictions across the province, the timing is right to re-open. We are thrilled to be able to welcome interns and customers back in just a few short weeks.

The café will operate Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

The daily menu will feature:

  • Hot soups
  • Unique Blend’s custom roasted coffee
  • Teas and other beverages
  • Sandwiches
  • Salads, and
  • Treats, muffins and cookies.

The Child Development Centre is located at 3820 24th Avenue NW, situated on the South East corner of the University of Calgary campus. It is convenient to the Alberta Children’s Hospital and the shops and services at UDistrict. If you’re in the area, drop by for coffee and stay for lunch!

If you want to know more about the café and our intern program, please contact us at info@sinneavefoundation.org or call 403 210-5000.
