The Beast Mode Fitness First Experience (Beast Mode) is a program initiative developed in partnership between the University of Calgary and The Sinneave Family Foundation. The vision of this project has been to research and learn about the benefits of exercise for individuals (between the ages of 16-30yrs) diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). In particular, we are interested in learning if providing physical health education through ‘hands on’ training can improve overall well-being, promote healthy living, improve self-confidence and self-esteem, encourage social-skill development, reduce anxiety, and enhance overall mental health.

Since Beast Mode’s creation in April 2016, we have been able to provide programming services to 38 participants. We are currently accepting applications for our January 2017 training group. If you are interested in signing up for the Beast Mode program, please e-mail Mike Barrett Mike.barrett@sinneavefoundation.org
