Last Christmas, 12 children received the gift of communication.

Since 2013 the Sinneave Family Foundation has been offering an iPad Bursary Program for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) who need assistive technology to help them communicate and to build independence. Many families cannot afford this technology but it is desperately needed.

Starting on December 8th, we will begin surprising 12 more bursary applicants with the gift of a new or gently used iPad.

The iPad Bursary program accepts monetary donations and gently used iPads and iPods and makes these important communication devices and Apps available to children and adults that need them.

Did you know . . .

  • Approximately 40% of children with ASD do not have the ability to communicate effectively.
  • Most of our iPad Bursary recipients are under the age of 17 and have difficulty with tasks such as organizing, planning, inhibiting responses and sustaining attention.
  • iPad’s have proven to be a very powerful tool for individuals with ASD to enhance overall quality of life.
