The Canadian Autism Spectrum Disorder Alliance is are seeking informative, relevant and inspiring presentations that showcase promising practices in programs and services serving individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) across Canada. Presentations should reflect programs and services identified as priorities in the Autism in Canada, National Needs Assessment Survey, including those that:

  • Increase timely access to diagnosis, intensive behavioural intervention, parent training and support, and other forms of evidence-based intervention;
  • Highlight social skills, behavioural, and adaptive behaviour supports across the lifespan;
  • Target the development of accessible mental health services for youth and adults with ASD that meet their level of need, including the involvement of the health, education, and community service sectors;
  • Address the unique needs of Canada’s northern communities;
  • Prioritize the needs of Self-Advocates, a large group of Canadians, many of whom are living on the periphery of their communities and often outside of the network of services;
  • Plan comprehensively for adulthood, including transition support services; and
  • Target outreach to linguistically and culturally diverse communities, facilitating understanding of their service needs and improving their access to services.

Format: Panel format – 10 minute presentations by each panelist followed by a Q and A.

Session Language: Bilingual. Any presenters utilizing power point presentations must make their slides available in English and French.
