EmploymentWorks Online offers valuable on-demand access to employment preparedness training for autistics who prefer a more flexible, self-paced approach to developing the skills needed to find a job, keep a job, and feel confident in a workplace.
The online format and user-friendly design of this exciting new resource allows individuals to experience the benefits of job readiness training at a pace that best supports their learning, and according to their preferred schedule. To participate, all one needs is access to a computer or tablet and a reliable internet connection. No travel required – no need to juggle your calendar – you pick the time, the place and the pace!
The program is comprised of easy to absorb content including a mix of text, videos and activities. Modules are organized into 1-week blocks based on four key themes that can be completed in more or less time.
The first block focuses on preparing for work and gaining a better understanding of your employment goals and strengths.
The second block focuses on getting work, and shares job seeking tips and tools to help prepare for and do well in an interview.
The third block supports keeping a job by covering topics such as being professional, making sense of workplace interactions, and dealing with stress and anxiety.
The final block discusses considerations to help you thrive at work, such as when and if to disclose a diagnosis, how to ask for physical and sensory adjustments, and understanding your pay.
And that’s not all! If you need some encouragement and support along the way, program staff are available to answer questions and help you guide you through the program successfully.

Who is the program for?
Individuals over 15 years of age:
- Who identify as being on the autism spectrum or as a person with a disability.
- Are motivated to enter or return to the workforce.
- Prefer learning at their own pace with limited facilitation (if any).
