Jim Flaherty has been praised for his many accomplishments as Canada’s Finance Minister but he holds a special place in the hearts of the almost 4.0 million Canadian’s with disabilities. In each of the 10 budgets he authored there was something that helped members of this community achieve a bit more independence and live with a bit more dignity.

The famous business author, Peter Drucker once said to me that “Good leaders are purveyors of hope”.  From this perspective, those with disabilities and their families have lost a great leader. As an organization dedicated to improving the lives of those who have Autism Spectrum Disorder we want to offer our thanks to his wife, Christine and his three sons in supporting Jim to make our Country a better place. We are deeply saddened by his passing.
