Skills Groups are skill development workshops that teach foundational skills to help autistic and neurodiverse participants to succeed across all aspects of daily life. In small groups of 4-5 individuals, participants learn a variety of key strategies and are given opportunities to practice those strategies with the support of their instructor and the other group members.

Our current Skills Groups support the development of:

  • Communicating more successfully with others
  • Executive Functioning
  • Managing your anxiety.

Participants meet with their Skills Group once per week for six consecutive weeks. The total cost for one Skills Group is $40.00. Sinneave is committed to overcoming financial barriers to service. If you would like to participate, but the cost would create a financial hardship, please contact us.

Note: Skills Groups are not intended for support workers, aides, caregivers, or other professionals. SFF offers workshops on a regular basis that are available to all.

Skills Groups are best suited for autistic and neurodiverse individuals who

  • Are 15 years of age and older.
  • Self-identify (or have been diagnosed) as being neuro-diverse and/or autistic.
  • Are able to commit to 6 weeks of programming (90 minutes to 2 hours) once weekly.
  • Are interested in learning and practicing key strategies that can have a positive impact on their daily routines.
  • Can communicate verbally.
  • Are willing to practice reflecting and sharing their thoughts with the group.
  • Can reliably and independently participate in a group setting (e.g., attend groups on time, communicate with group leader if you are unable to attend, do not require a one-to-one assistant).
  • Commit to keeping an open mind, and actively participating in program activities.
  • Can complete this form by themselves or with minimal support.
  • Are able to travel independently or have reliable transportation arrangements to and from the program.
  • OR
