Thanks to amazing generousity of the Ability Hub staff, Board, friends and colleagues the Ability Hub’s iPad bursary program raised over $23,000!

Kudos to Carmen Ragan for her brilliant idea and leadership! The Leadership Team thought a fundraising goal of $13,000 in three weeks was going to be a stretch, but everyone embraced the challenge.

Carmen Ragan took advantage of the Black Friday sale and purchased all the iPads, cases, chargers, etc. that we need to run the 24 iPad giveaway in December.  Yes, we will be able to give a new or gently used iPad a day to a family in need dealing with autism before Christmas.

The iPad bursary program operates year round to provide families in need with a variety of technology tools and services. All funds and gently used iPad donations allow for:

  • Provision of new and gently used iPads to families in need
  • Accessories (such as protective cases to prolong the life of the device) and programs/applications
  • Teaching and training for families

Katelyn Lowe, Clinical Director at The Ability Hub, “I am so proud of Carmen’s vision for this bursary program.  This program is going to impact the lives of so many children and families and make for a joyous Christmas season!  Well done and a special thanks to Future Shop for price matching and discounting beyond belief!”

Carmen, Ability Hub’s Assistive Technology Ambassador, “We could not have exceeded our goal and made this program work without the support of every member of The Hub. I am proud to work with such amazing people!”
